Care Date Extraction Posted or Updated on 3 Apr 2023

NHS England has notified the practice, that under the Health and Social Care Act 2012, it now has the power to extract data from all providers of NHS care, including general practice. This is to provide better data to inform clinical decision making for service provision.

Initially data will be from April 2013. it will include NHS number, date of birth, postcode and gender, along with referrals, NHS Prescriptions and clinical data. Free text recorded will not be extracted. 

This extraction is due to commence 8 weeks from when the practice was advised, so 8 weeks from 6th September 2013.

Further information can be obtained by e mailing enquiries@hscic.gov.uk quoting "care.data" in the subject line. There are information leaflets in the surgeries as well. If you decide that you do not want your data shared, please notify this in writing addressed to Keith Fuller, Managing Partner and send to our Istead Rise address.
