Text messaging going live shortly...
Posted on 15 Jun 2016
The Practice is delighted to announce that text messaging is on the way. It will be used to remind patients of appointments which have been booked in advance. It provides the opportunity to cancel an appointment if it has become inconvenient by a simple response.
The system will also be able to advise when the flu clinics are being held for those entitled, as well as anyone who falls into a specific group for health prevention treatment such as those entitled to Shingles vaccines.
The software was installed yesterday and all patients with a valid mobile number were sent a text advising of the new service. If you don't want it, just respond in the way the text says and you will be removed.
Every patient providing a mobile number from now on will automatically be opted in for the service - unless you tell us otherwise. If you want the service, please just advise reception of your mobile number.
We hope you will agree that this is a good step forward is using technology within healthcare!
